The artist-boxer investigates cases of
one’s excessive fear while activating self-defense mechanisms,
to survive and create visibility. Followed by the emergency
speech, boxing embodies an independent, fearless fighter. While shouting ‘‘Pull your skirt towards your knees! Fight like
a man! ’’, she gives the instruction both to the audience and
herself, changing the contexts of the fight by boxing in different
public spaces.
The artist-in-defense fights the commodities, fears, and masculinity,
inevitably, within the cultural procedure, as the consequence of both laboring and existing in a capitalist system.
